The three defensive Zod helpers (stringOrEmpty, numberOrZero,
booleanOrFalse) used by user.ts are general-purpose Zod utilities
that any schema may need — they're not user-specific. The original
inline declaration in user.ts had two downsides:
1. Any new schema (chat, auth, metrics, etc.) that needs the same
'null | undefined → default scalar' pattern would have to
duplicate the helper.
2. The long defensive-parse comment block (11 lines) lived inside
user.ts and didn't explain the helpers' general purpose.
Move them to src/data/schemas/nullable-defaults.ts (top-level
sibling of auth/, chat/, metrics/, user/ subdirs) so any schema
can import them. Keep the original explanation verbatim at the
top of the new file.
Bundled in this commit:
- user.ts imports the helpers from the new file (drops 11 lines
of comment + 3 const declarations)
- 3 auto-generated barrel index files regenerated by barrelsby
to pick up the new exports (chat/, subscription/, stores/user/)
Remove `**...**` emphasis markers from inline comments and JSDoc blocks across
auth and chat components, machine mappers, and quota helpers. These are
plain code comments, not rendered markdown, so the bold syntax was noise.
Files touched:
- src/app/auth/components/auth-screen.tsx
- src/app/chat/components/chat-header.tsx
- src/app/chat/components/chat-screen.tsx
- chat machine mapper / quota helpers
No functional or behavioral changes.
Two related fixes for OAuth login failures:
- `UserSchema`: backend (Facebook/Apple) returns `null` for fields like
`email`; Zod's `.default("")` rejects `null`, causing silent login
failures. Introduce `stringOrEmpty` / `numberOrZero` / `booleanOrFalse`
helpers (`nullable().transform(v => v ?? x).default(x)`) and apply
across the schema so input accepts `string | null | undefined` while
output stays the typed primitive.
- `SplashScreen`: render `state.errorMessage` (set by auth state machine
`onError`, e.g. Facebook sync / schema mismatch) so users no longer
get stuck on splash without feedback.
Add Stripe payment integration across the project:
- Add @stripe/stripe-js dependency
- Configure Stripe environment variables (secret key, publishable key, webhook secret) for dev, local, and production environments
- Add Product/Price IDs for monthly, quarterly, and annual subscription tiers
- Extend subscription plan data with voiceMinutesPerDay quotas (30/45/60 minutes per tier)
- Update .gitignore to exclude implementation_plan.md
- Move src/data/{api,dto,schemas} directories to src/data/services/*
- Update all relative imports across the codebase to reference new paths
- Use CSS color tokens for splash button gradient in splash-button.module.css
- Add responsive sizes attribute to splash background image
- Add JSDoc documentation to splash-background component referencing original Dart implementation
Reorganize the data layer by separating DTOs (Data Transfer Objects) from
Zod validation schemas into distinct directory structures. Previously,
all model types were imported from a single `@/data/models` barrel
file, mixing request/response classes with validation schemas.
Changes:
- Update API files (auth, chat, metrics, user) to import DTOs from
specific paths under `@/data/dto/*` instead of the models barrel
- Move user schema to `@/data/schemas/user/user` for type-only imports
- Create dedicated Zod schema files under `@/data/schemas/*` for
auth and chat domain models (e.g., AppleLoginRequestSchema,
SendMessageRequestSchema, SyncMessageSchema, SttDataSchema)
- Improve discoverability and tree-shaking by co-locating schemas
with their respective domain areas
This is a non-functional refactor that lays the groundwork for
clearer separation between transport-layer types and runtime
validation.
